Too Shy - A Ryan Hutchins short film. (7minutes of a truly amazing story) [Watch online here]

It is a Ryan Hutchins film. Now when i say that i mean that it is an extremely poignant story. The movie starts with a guy narrating a poem to a full-house about this girl whom he met and has been in love since age 9.
It shows the desperation to express yet he often repeats what stops him from burping the words-- " ...but i am shy and i don't know why".
That goes on and he covers a whole lifetime of desolation, where his shyness leads him to lose his love. However, at the age of 69 when he hears of her death and goes to her funeral, her husband gives him a diary.
What he reads there and how that story unfolds that is where lies the art of the director.

What adds a flavor to the whole story is the way the whole story has been narrated.

She has been my best friend ever since we were nine
I stared her face and her hair, wishing she was mine
She didn’t like me like that and that’s fine
Because I was with her all the time
She’d ask for class notes from the day b4
Then kiss my cheek but I wanted something more
I was trying to tell her straight 4m my core
But I was JUST too SHY
And I DON”T KNOW WHY!!

Neighbours (1952)- Acacdemy Award Winning ( Norman McLaren)

An 8minutes saga to show you how devastating could rivalry be. Who could have though that what started as a casual Sunday morning would lead to such monstrosity. And this is just a biopic to the greater and graver challenges we face when we let ourselves be a subject to the neighbor complex.

The movie starts on a slow note and throughout it continues in a melodramatic way. You might think for a second that what the heck is this? But, trust me fellas...if only you give it some time you will see the extraordinary style and capability of the director to catch the moments.

Besides, the background score is amazing. Just watch it. 8 minutes is not a huge time.

Neighbors (Short film) -Watch online just one click

There you go, this would seem like a deja-vu. We all have such noisy neighbors who corrode our happiness and serenity from life. We hate the domestic violence yet we cannot let ourselves be completely isolated from being involved in their lives.
But,
The main and the most interesting part of this short film is the climax in the second half.
The first half just builds the story but the second part gives it sense.
This movie is an amazing contrast between the two lifestyles. There are couples without any violence, always in a harmony but something within them makes their heart crawl. They have to squeeze hard to get drops of love from each other. And then there are those who fight, who spit venom and yet they fall back to their partners in times of distress. yet there is one thing that kills all relationship if not curbed -- LUST.
That is what this climax brings out.
All that stands between these two worlds is a thin wall.

Matrubhoomi (Motherland) [Full movie: Watch with just 1click]

This is one another movie which assures you how amazing your life is. If you can breathe free, if you have at least one person you can count when in trouble.
But what about those poor souls who are brought up just to be sold to not one, not two but the five brothers in a household but ends up spending her first night with her father-in-law. Her father comes months later to a letter she writes complaining about the wrongs done to her, but her father comes back just to gobble more money.
Imagine the woes of the only girl in a village full of lascivious, sex-hungry mob.
And even after years and years of the trauma of having slept with the enemies, when she finally manages to flee, she is tied to the post and raped repeatedly.
That is what fate has for the lone survivor of the milk-cauldrons. No body wants a girl child, she happens to bring ill-luck, bad-charms, financial woes and what not.
In a country where marriage is still dominated by the groom's side and huge amounts of cash as dowry is paid, this village stands out to be different. Here the vice-versa happens, yet the girl doesn't rule. She becomes like one of those Japanese toys which is used and abused an then thrown at some corner or closet.

Watch this movie to appreciate the fact that life is beautiful and we are blessed to have it so.

Also, watch it for some power-packed performances, where actors have drawn the brutal realities of this menacing society so well that you would eventually be convinced that it is happenning around you.

Synopsis : Matrubhoomi: A Nation Without Women (Bhojpuri/Hindi: मातृभूमि, translation: Motherland) is a 2003 Indian film written and directed by Manish Jha. The film examines the impact of female foeticide and female infanticide on the gender balance, and consequently the stability and attitudes of society. Its storyline bears some resemblance to real-life instances of gender imbalance and economics resulting in fraternal polyandry and bride buying in some parts of India. [1] It depicts a future dystopia in an Indian village populated exclusively by males due to female infanticide over the years

EGYPTIAN MAIDENS [BENTEIN MEN MASR] (1click watch with synopsis and details )

When we think that life has not given us enough, when everything we see around seems to be dull and the grass on the other side of the river seems greener, we forget the basic facts - that we are better to do than many.
Egyptian maidens talks about two girls who are ambitious and educated in the fast paced life. They have carved a well-to-do life for themselves and take pride in it, until they realize that their identity does not lie in what they do or how better they perform. Rather they have to be dependent on their better halves for being respected by the society.

What to expect : A sneak peek into the closed society of Egypt and their ideologies about women. Sometimes when you are sitting in the confines of your liberal society, you can extract great amusement from knowing the realities of such societies.
You can also expect to be enthused by the hard work and endurance these ladies put.

What not to expect : Although it talks about the atrocities of women, it just talks about the mental agony that the women go through. No physically abusive scenes.
Also, although the movie has an 18+ tag, it is mostly because of the nature of speech. At times you can really be sitting there biting your nails in unacceptable daze.

Dil Chahta Hai (The heart desires)

We all have that time in life when friends matter more than family, frolics become an addiction.
There is that isolation from the rest of the world and yet a whole new dimension within the group.
Speak the devil and yet friends smile.
But then suddenly, we cross that threshold quietly and by the time we realize that those playful days are over we become quite mature.

Dil Chahta Hai - is a phenomenal movie chronicling those youthful days and clearly defining the threshold.

3 hours of this movie is not just a source of entertainment but various B-schools in India have actually used this as a case study to define certain human aspects. This movie is a broad subject of study in the field of Management in Human Resources.

And not just friendsip- this movie also shows the transformation that people undergo. How circumstances mold people. It talks about their individual relationships and what effect it has on them.

Things we can learn from Dil Chahta Hai .. ..
·       Freaking out and enjoying life doesn't need drugs or cigarettes.                                                                             http://l.yimg.com/a/i/space.gif

·      There are relationships apart from Bf/Gf, marriage, siblings, friendship that can be very emotional and true which is beyond the understanding of many people.

And yeah even though U may be the best of friends there is always a limit which should never be crossed. Then it starts hurting..... ......

Improving U r imperfections after you realize it, always take some time.

·       You always don't need to show or prove your Gf/Bf how much U love or care about her/him, which can sound very boring and finally U R dumped.

·       Believe in Love , true love will never let you down

·       Never be ashamed to go back to your old friends, friends are there to understand your mistakes.

·       Do not be afraid of others, always think that others are afraid of you. (remember the Australian Beggar at the
railway station…?)

·       Whenever you need your friend, remember that he is just a phone call away...distances can't separate friends

·       In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends

·       It's the friends you can call up at 4 A. M. that matter.

·       The only unchangeable certainty is that nothing is certain or unchangeable.

·       The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with never say a word, and then walk away with a feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.

IMDB Ranking : #25

Synopsis :

Simply put, it is the story of Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart), a world-weary ex-freedom fighter who runs a nightclub in Casablanca during the early part of WWII. Despite pressure from the local authorities, notably the crafty Capt. Renault (Claude Rains), Rick's cafà (C) has become a haven for refugees looking to purchase illicit letters of transit which will allow them to escape to America. One day, to Rick's great surprise, he is approached by the famed rebel Victor Laszlo (Paul Henreid) and his wife, Ilsa (Ingrid Bergman), Rick's true love who deserted him when the Nazis invaded Paris. She still wants Victor to escape to America, but now that she's renewed her love for Rick, she wants to stay behind in Casablanca. "You must do the thinking for both of us," she says to Rick. He does, and his plan brings the story to its satisfyingly logical, if not entirely happy, conclusion.

Most famous dialogue : Here's looking at you kid !!
(say it to a girl and she will melt like a sundae in Panama sun.)
